Wowza, Houston. Last Saturday’s show has us overjoyed. Beaming. Pumped. Proud. Even relieved, to be honest.
We’re still reeling from our simply incredible show in The Bayou City. We had no idea what to expect from our first foray outside of Dallas. Since last September when we signed a lease at HTX’s Silver Street Studios, we worked our tails off to create something fun and fresh for a city oozing incredible talent.
The hard work and heart-felt promotion paid off (see a fun television segment here). Shoppers poured inside the show (some even drove down from Dallas!) and purchased from our artisans like pros. Several of our vendors — both new Houston talent and longtime Big D peeps — even clocked their best sales ever at the event.
This show was a big deal for Flea Style. On a company level it was a test to see if scaling the business into new markets is worth the risk. The answer? Heck yes!
But on a personal level, it was also a testament to all of the hard work poured into the biz since 2009, and especially the past 15 months when I decided to make a career pivot and focus on Flea Style full time with a team I continue to carefully build for big picture plans in the maker community.
Houston, thank you for your outpour of support and appreciation. We are thrilled to call your home a second home for Flea Style and look forward to so many more shows together. To our vendors, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. From driving hundreds of miles and spending Mother’s Day weekend away from family to simply taking a chance on our first show, we appreciate you!
Ok, enough of the sappy stuff. We are simply thrilled with our first HTX show and are jazzed about the future of Flea Style Houston (the November 19th show application goes live May 15th, fyi).
