Seven years ago this month, the Dallas Flea was born. In the time since, we’ve grown beyond the local pop-up marketplace and rebranded as Flea Style to grow our audience, platforms and stage for the mover-and-shaker community. The journey from there to here has taught us a lot — and it’s given us the opportunity to connect with amazingly talented and ambitious creatives across the country. Along the way, we’ve had the guidance and good advice of a lot of smart folks, and we’re ready to share that.
We also wanted to give back to the creative community that has helped our growth and success in a direct and impactful way. When we launched our lifestyle label and online shop, we decided to give 10 percent of profits to a good cause. We researched programs that gave back to the arts, but nothing felt like us.
And that’s why we’re launching The Flea Style Mentorship Program!
The Flea Style Mentorship Program is our love letter to the small business world. Through the program. we will provide six months of inspiration, meetings, materials and opportunity to one company in the American creative community ready to take his or her (or their, if multiple owners) business to the next level. We at Flea Style, along with our esteemed panel of experts in law, marketing, finance and more, will work with the recipient to provide expertise and resources. Also this is going to be fun!
The lucky (and hard-working) recipient will receive some or all of the following:
- Six one-on-one meetings with our knowledgeable mentors and the Flea Style team
- A professionally designed or rebranded company logo (if needed)
- A professionally produced YouTube video about his/her business
- A professional headshot
- A feature on Flea Style’s blog
- $250 to spend at Office Depot
- VIP ticket/s to the Flea Style Summit on February 25, 2017
- Two nights’ accommodations in Dallas for the Flea Style Summit (if the recipient lives outside of Dallas)
It’s free to apply, and applications open today; the deadline is January 15. We will announce the first Flea Style Mentorship Program recipient on February 1.
