We are obsessed with our vendors, shoppers, followers and fans. Our hearts swell every single time you apply for a booth at one of our shows, attend one of our shows, make a purchase in our e-boutique, come to one of our workshops, buy a ticket to our Summit and double-tap one of our Insta posts.
We’ve worked so hard to create this company over the past seven years and are so grateful that y’all keep joining our journey and supporting it with so much love. One of our biggest fans is Katrina Skuljan. We had the pleaseure of meeting her this fall and couldn’t keep this ray of sunshine our little secret anymore.
Having purchased six Gypset Wraps and a whole slew of other goodies from Flea Style, the 46-year-old Los Angeles-based realtor is one of our top — and most enthusiastic — shoppers. When this lady falls in love with something, she likes to max out. And that more-is-more attitude is just one reason she’s a Flea Style fit.
Though Skuljan typically shops with us online, one evening this fall, she and her gal pal Renee Washburn, who owns Mairahki Trading Company, stopped by the Flea Style office to see the goods in person. We had a bottle of bubbly and a giant bear hug waiting for them!
The women were in town to attend the annual Lone Star Dog Ranch Rescue fundraiser. The organization rescues puppy mill mamas, rehabilitates them and finds them furever homes. Skuljan is part of the Lone Star Dog Ranch Rescue Village and has three French bulldogs of her own. Each of the pups has an unforgettably fabulous name — Sailor Hugo, Jolene Poppy Seed and Pierre Cardin Alistar — which is another example of how when she feels passionately about something, she takes it to the limit.
It was love at first sight for all. So much so we met up with the women another night while they were in town to keep the conversation going and get to know these cool California girls — now lifetime members of the Flea Style family — a little better.
How did you find out about Flea Style?
I’m obsessed with Sea of Shoes (editor’s note: a Flea Style winter Summit panelist) and found Flea Style through Jane’s Instagram.
Describe your style in six words or fewer.
Classic meets funky bohemian vintage chic.
What was your first purchase from Flea Style?
My first Gypset Wrap.
What do you love about the Gypset Wrap?
I love clothing that is versatile, and this piece can be worn a dozen ways.
Of the wraps you have purchased, which is your favorite?
My favorite Gypset Wrap is the first one I bought. It’s a vintage African mud cloth in baby blue and cream with hints of dusty rose.
What’s your favorite way to wear it?
I love wearing mine as a scarf or layered over a longer dress as a skirt.
What do you like to wear it with?
You can literally wear it with anything or nothing! It’s just that amazing.
What did you buy when you stopped to see us?
I got so many beautiful things! A gorgeous Indian batik blanket, three pillows from a Turkish bazaar, two vintage Moroccan pillows, a fantastic wool macrame owl in mint condition, an Indonesian cotton robe (that I live in), a vintage baby blue mud cloth scarf, an amazing horn bracelet and the best pair of vintage restored boots from the ’50s that I’ve ever seen!
