The Whole Town’s Talking About Flea Style
Our Dallas show is this weekend, and amid all the space planning, set building and email answering, we’ve also been on a media blitz. In the last couple of weeks, Flea Style has been featured on TV, radio, Facebook Live, in print and on the Internet. We’ve been spreading the news about our upcoming shows every chance we get!
Check it out!
Flea Style was a guest on “Good Morning Texas” Tuesday morning. Brittany showed Alanna Sarabia and morning coffee-sipping viewers what they can expect at Fair Park this weekend (and later this month at Silver Street Studios in Houston). With Gypset wraps and embellished denim, vintage jewelry and embroidered dresses for little girls, she teased everyone to come on out!
CW33 had Brittany on for a fun morning Eye Opener segment to tout the Dallas and Houston shows and show off a few cute things from our vendors. The segment gave viewers a little taste of awesomeness from Stephanie Johnson, Cahoots Handbags, Cowboy Cuties and others.
We’ve followed Glitter Guide for years, and it was a dream come true when those awesome gals ran a feature on Brittany’s casa, delving into her home life, work life and deep love for flea markets and margaritas. People don’t believe that the house is decorated on a dime with flea finds — but it’s true!
A long-time supporter of Flea Style, D Magazine did us — and some of our vendors — right this week. In advance of the show, writer Stephanie Gomez highlighted a few makers and sellers to watch for at the Dallas show, including a couple of cute pairs: locals Nerd & Brawler as well as out-of-towners Nell & Mary.
The Dallas edition of Tidbits ran a sweet piece on Freckled Pottery, which makes perfect little pieces for showing off your greenery and flowers. Read the story and be sure to find them and say ‘hi’ this weekend.
We made our Facebook Live debut with radio personality Doc Thompson, as part of his Building America series. Brittany and Doc chatted about how Flea Style got started, how the business has grown and how we support our vendors. Viewers saw a little bit from Folklore Baby & Kids, The Simple Sol, Lauren Huddleston and others. The segment reached even more people on TheBlaze Radio Network.
We had so much fun with Doc that he asked us back a few days later, giving us nearly nine minutes of airtime on TheBlaze to talk more about Flea Style, the challenges of running a small business and how we help our vendors grow their brands. It was our first radio spot ever!
Park Cities People
Brittany chatted with reporter Maria Adolphs about starting the biz, Flea Style success stories and the upcoming shows for a story that appeared in a recent edition of Park Cities People newspaper.
And finally, though the story isn’t out yet, we took a couple of vintage-obsessed editors from D Home on a shopping trip to Canton for First Monday Trade Days. We all scored a boatload of one-of-a-kind finds. We’re bringing ours to the show — we can’t wait to see what they do with theirs. The big reveal will be in the May issue, and you know we’ll keep you posted!
