6 Reasons to Hit Our Houston Spring Show

Flea Style 2016 show

Are you ready, Houston?

We just finished mapping all 25,000 square feet of next weekend’s show, and we are pumped to tell you what’s coming your way a week from Saturday! From pet adoptions to food trucks to cocktails to — of course! — beaucoup handmade, vintage, one-of-a-kind finds, we’ve planned a day at Silver Street Studios that promises to be full of fun.

A few things to note before we get into all the juicy details: The show starts at 9 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m., parking is free, and there’s an ATM on-site. Entry is $5 cash at the door, but you can save yourself the trouble and buy your ticket now.

Now, lets dive into these six reasons you should come see us next Saturday. (Really though, come see us. We have a double booth and would love to give you a hug!)

Cuteheads Flea Style

1. Cool Stuff for Kiddos

Parents, you’re in luck! With coloring and chalkboard crafts, the little kids’ area at the Dallas show was a big hit, so we’re bringing it to H-Town. What’s different here is that KICPops will be dishing up all-natural, small-batch popsicles for the young and older alike. We personally can’t wait to try one! We also can’t wait to get our hands on the playtime/party-time duds from kids’ vendor Cuteheads. Please can they make this stuff in our size!?

2. Good Stuff for Guys

Aka “The ShaveFace/Bourbon Situation,” the BARbershop is the killer combo of Kentucky bourbon brand Buffalo Trace and Nashville’s ShaveFace. The old-school barbershop meets modern-day bourbon-tasting lounge is a place for guys to get a shot with their free shave or beard trim. From there, they can go on to scout out something unique from newcomer 1791 Supply Co. — who made a splash at their first Flea Style show in Dallas — or perennial faves Manready Mercantile and Odin Leather Goods.

3. Giveaways Galore

We’re not even going to tease you with all the cool loot vendors are donating as freebies. All you’ll have to do is enter to win one of a dozen neat items, from jewelry to clothing to home decor, so look for the table with the giant “giveaways” sign. Plus, the first 100 shoppers in the door will get Flea Style cotton totes.

4. Pets Allowed

You’re welcome to bring Hairy Pawter to Flea Style, so long as you keep him leashed. While you’re there, you may want to outfit him in something new from UptownPetwear. This Dallas-based company has been a Flea Style vendor from the very beginning. Don’t have a dog but wish you did? The Houston Homeless Pet Project will have adorable adoptable pups on-site. (Please, someone keep us away!)

Nina Berenato Flea Style

5. More Mobile Vendors

Rolling in style are a few vendors we’re incredibly excited about. First, Austin-based Penny Luck is proving that shoes make the man with its gorgeous leather footwear for guys. From the beautiful lines to the pennies embedded in the soles, these shoes make us feel lucky to be alive! Houston darling Stateline Designs will pull into Flea Style with its ever-popular boutique-on-wheels loaded with casual tees, tanks and more. And we are especially thrilled to have Austin’s Nina Berenato bring her vintage Airstream, Bambi, and her beautiful modern jewelry line down from Austin. She’ll even be doing some work on-site, so be sure to stop by, say ‘hi’ and watch her in action.

Curbside Sliderz

6. Sliders and Signature Cocktails

Shopping works up an appetite. Quell the belly beast with a savory snack from Curbside Sliderz. Wash it down — or just loosen up — with a signature cocktail from the Flea Style bar. We’re pouring three kinds of infused mimosas (strawberry-rhubarb, peach cobbler and blueberry) as well as delish Irish coffees and more. (Just don’t drink and drive!)

We’re looking forward to another wild and wonderful time in Houston. We sure hope to see you there!
