3 Dallas Designers We’re Crushing On
Our vendors hail from all over the country, but this trio lives right here in our backyard. From hand-making sculptural jewelry to crafting unique wall hangings from home-raised chickens, this flock of female crafters is pretty cool in our book.
A little about us: Hi, I’m Tess Sorensen! I began this journey with four backyard chickens at my urban home. They were molting beautiful feathers that I just couldn’t let go. I created jewelry from them to sell in my husband’s salon. Flash forward five years and I’m still using our bird’s feathers (and those from friends and family) at the core of my designs. We recently added 13 more chickens to our flock. All wooden dowels and vines are sustainably harvested from our 27 acres registered bird scantuary just outside of Dallas.
Currently listening to: NPR radio, Oprah’s SuperSoul Sunday podcast and Hip Hop/Pop music when my daughters aren’t around.
Something surprising about me: My husband – a talented Lakewood hair stylist – and I recently built a home on our registered bird sanctuary outside Dallas.

MOD + JO
A little about us: Hi, I’m Jordan Flynn! Mod + Jo was born out of frustration in the lack of quality and unique accessories that wouldn’t break the bank. Our attainably-priced handcrafted accessories are made with heart in Dallas.

Favorite quote: When growing a business, I’ve always been told you make the most progress when you’re outside of your comfort zone. So I always remind myself to “get comfortable with being uncomfortable.”

A little about us: Hi, I’m India Hearne and all of my goods’ graphics are hand-lettered and drawn by me right here in Deep Ellum where I live! My designs reflect the spirit of the desert served up with a little sass and attitude in hopes to put a smile on your face!
Beach or mountains? Definitely mountains. Much of my inspiration comes from when I lived in New Mexico while attending art school.
