Meet the Makers: For The Paint of Heart

Meet the Makers: For The Paint of Heart

A couple months ago, Maker’s Mark — yes, as in the delicious bourbon brand — approached us about working together to promote makers — yes, as in creatives. Of course we jumped at the opportunity for our worlds to collide. Y’all know how much we love our vendors and a good cocktail.

Over the next six months, expect lots of cool collaborations between our companies including an ongoing blog partnership toasting makers in our store and a seasonal cocktail from the bourbon guru.

To kick off the fun, we wanted to highlight some artists we’ve been eyeing in our store. These three talents’ subjects are very different. But they all love vibrant colors and striking subjects.

From abstract brush strokes to cute childlike creatures, these painters offer a little something for everyone.

HONEY’S ART ROOM

A little about me: Hi, I’m Frances Hardy, my grandchildren call me “Honey.” I began painting three years ago as a hobby and have been refining my craft while finding inspiration from nature and animals. I have recently begun an endangered species series and hope to bring awareness of these beautiful creatures great and small.

Dream vacation destination: Isle of Skye Scotland where my ancestors came from.

KATIE CRAIG ART

A little about me: Hi, I’m Katie Keyworth! My fine art and prints capture the intriguing collision of color and motion as emphasized by brush stroke and texture. I’m inspired by the energy created when contrast and composition are properly combined.

What’s your favorite thing about being a small business owner? The flexible schedule that allows me to stay home and take care of my son.

Beach or mountains? Beach, I’m a California girl through and through.

Currently listening to: Hozier, I think I’m a few years late on this bandwagon.
