Meet the Makers: 3 Outside The Box Thinkers

Meet the Makers: 3 Outside The Box Thinkers

We love one-of-a-kind style. That’s why these three creatives in our store have us swooning.

One drills and embroiders wood by hand. Another seeks out rare — and very funky! — vintage fashion finds. And the other re-defines what a candle should look like.

Intrigued? Good! Learn more about these amazing makers and collectors and meet them in person at our Dallas fall show November 2nd and 3rd!

The lowdown: Hi, we’re Heather and Jim Lecheler. Jim helps with the woodworking side of things while Heather designs, drills and embroiders each piece by hand.

Beach or mountains? Mountains for sure! We enjoy hiking, especially in Big Bend.

Currently listening to: Paul Simon, the Avett Brothers and Shakey Graves

Dream vacation: Camping in the Grand Canyon, then a weekend at a fancy resort to sleep in without our kids!

The lowdown: Hi, I’m Summer Angel! Yellow Wood Vintage was established in 2013 and is a vivid, fearless, unique treasure trove for those not afraid to take “the road less traveled.” All items are excavated by yours truly with the intent that all treasure seekers unearth a piece that reflects both spirit and soul.

Favorite quote: “Two roads diverged in a wood, and I — I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference,” by Robert Frost.

Dream vacation destination: Bora Bora!

The lowdown: Hi, I’m Trista Marie Edwards. I’m an Ohio born, Georgia Peach who put down roots in Texas! I make soy candles topped with stones and pretty dried flowers. Marvel + Moon launched October 13, 2017 (my favorite month… I love all Halloween, spooky things!) and is inspired by my love of self-care ritual, poetry and botanical curios.

Beach or mountains? Both! I’m a mermaid at heart but I love hiking all over the country!

Currently listening to: FKA Twigs and the Ologies podcast with Alie Ward

Favorite quote: “Luxury is not a necessity to me, but beautiful and good things are,” by Anaïs Nin.
