Fridays with Flea Style: Alto CCO Alexandra Halbardier
Alex Halbardier left a cushy corporate consulting job to follow her dreams of working for a startup after her personal life took an unexpected turn. We sit down with the Chief Customer Officer (and second employee) of ride share company Alto to discuss life in the fast lane of starting a new business.
From expert advice from her days at Boston Consulting Group to life now running an early stage startup that raised 13 million in funding, the Princeton grad and mother-of-one offers loads of juicy small biz advice.

If you didn’t do your current job, what would you be doing and why? I’m a data nerd, so probably something in that vein. Before Alto, I was at the Boston Consulting Group, where I focused a lot on data/analytics and loved it. I would also love to play Scrabble professionally.
Describe your picture perfect day off: A long walk with my family followed by lunch outside (somewhere my son can run around without me chasing him). At night, I would go to see a rom-com or fantasy movie at one of those fancy theaters with big chairs, wine, and popcorn.
Current playlist or radio station on repeat? 91.7 or The Postal Service’s album ‘Give Up’ (it’s 15-years old, but I still listen to it at least once a month).
If money was no object, what would you spurge on for yourself? A seat on the first commercial trip to the moon.
If you could score a mentor session with anybody for an hour, who would you want to sit down with and why? J.K. Rowling or Shonda Rhimes, because I love amazing stories and the amazing women who tell them.
