Shopping Canton with Storage Wars Star Mary Padian

Shopping Canton with Storage Wars Star Mary Padian

Earlier this month, we hit the road with Storage Wars star Mary Padian to shop First Monday Trade Days to score some unique products for our store. Mary was in town for Thanksgiving and to catch up with friends.

Mary is an old buddy of mine. We met about ten years ago when she had a little shop in the Design District full of refurbished home finds, vintage furniture and funky little accessories she scoured high and low in back alleys, tiny towns and thrift stores across Texas.

I instantly fell in love with the firecracker and her unique eye and style. We’ve been friends ever since (don’t miss our Fridays with Flea Style podcast episode if you haven’t heard it yet) and always have a ball when she’s in town from Los Angeles and we get together.

Follow our East Texas junking adventure below and don’t miss our finds in store now. From vintage rugs to Hollywood glam accessories, we brought back a wide-ranging haul you’ll love for your home!

Scoping out good stuff for our shoppers! Discovered some vintage glassware in this crazy junk pile that is now in store and so pretty for a bar cart or holiday table setting.

Mary and I both share a love for handmade, vintage and unique things but she definitely leans more on the rustic side. We brought back a few old bowls and displays that spoke to her for the store. Don’t miss them!

Mary fell in love with some funky old light fixtures out in the fields. We didn’t take home this French sconce, but we did bring back some bomb aged brass lamps!

Lots of old paintings and art came home with us, too. P.S. That vintage light sign says Sizzler! If only we had a bigger ride we for sure would have brought its nostalgic awesomeness to the shop as well!

If there is an old object I can turn into a store fixture or display, there is no doubt that I will uncover it and have our team create something unique with it! This perforated object will make the perfect earring holder!

Bookends, old French frames and wood objet d’art definitely made their way into our carts!

We took home a few fab rugs! Mary loved this old jewel-tone Southwestern runner.
