Fridays with Flea Style: Real Housewives of Dallas Star + Sparkle Dog Founder Kameron Westcott

Kameron Westcott may be best known for her Real Housewives of Dallas gig, but the California native is also working hard on her small business owner role.

She recently started Sparkle Dog Food, a healthy alternative for pups made with top-notch ingredients and eye-popping pink kibble. On our latest podcast episode, we talk to the mom-of-two about the show and balancing her personal life while trying to build a company that’s close to her heart.

Listen below — and learn a few bonus fun facts about Kameron, too!

Describe a day in your shoes at Sparkle Dog: I do everything! I work with the food nutritionist, chemist and factory. I design all of our packaging. I even hire dog influencers to try out our food to get their advice on our brand as well. My husband runs the business side of it all. We really work together as a team now which I’m so thankful for.

Favorite life advice? Never give up even if everyone doubts you! Also, do something that makes your heart sparkle!

What made you decide to go on The Real Housewives of Dallas? This was my favorite show of all time! I never actually thought I would have been chosen to be a cast member so when they called I was shocked! I also wanted to spread light on many charitable organizations that I’m extremely passionate about in hopes others can get involved as well!

Were you all friends prior to the show? Yes, I knew Cary and D’Andra.

What is a day of filming like? Our days are different everyday! We meet up with the ladies some days and other days we film with our families. The group has so many different personalities we all never know what can happen next so everyday can change depending on what’s really going on in all our lives.

How did Sparkle Dog Food come about? Louis, my dog, would never eat all these fancy foods (especially when I would go out of town). I realized he needed a food he loves to eat on his own and that is also healthy. I also wanted to support a good cause. We partnered with Susan G. Komen; the pink kibble in our food represents women battling breast cancer. This was done in honor of my best friend form childhood who survived breast cancer twice!

If you didn’t do your current job, what would you be doing and why? I would be volunteering in our community like I always do!

Describe your picture-perfect day off: Go to breakfast, work out, hit the mall and watch reality TV in my pajamas. Of course snuggling my children as well, but I answered this for an “adult-only day!”

What have you learned about yourself after going on the show? I realized how important it is to have your own opinion and stay true to what you believe is right or wrong at all times. And follow your instincts!

What are a couple of your must-have beauty products? Augustinus Bader “The Rich Cream” and Cle De Peau concealer!

If you could score a mentor session with anybody for an hour, who would you want to sit down with and why? Anna Wintour so I can learn how she has stayed relevant in the fashion world for the past decades!
