Sara Sena is a regular fixture in our Deep Ellum store always on the hunt for bohemian home decor. The self-described "maximalist plant lover" normally beelines for our vintage brass candlesticks, global textiles, woven rugs and funky oil paintings.
When we learned the fun-loving nanny lives in a cozy 730-square foot Dallas condo, we had to see the space and how she packs so much Flea Style goodness inside. We learned she has some major skills -- and is a major maximalist!
Here is a peek inside Sara's boho-meets-Hollywood Regency pad that's packed with unique finds from our store, thrifting hauls and flea markets near and far.
How did you find Flea Style?
I found Flea Style on Instagram and started attending the shows! It’s now something I look forward to every year. I also frequent the store as much as I can.
You love to thrift! Where did your thrill for the hunt come from?
My mom had a space she rented in downtown McKinney at The Antique Company mall in the mid-late 90s and would take me with her. She also brought me along to estate sales, garage sales and thrift stores. It’s something we still love doing together.
Why do you love vintage style?
It has a huge place in my heart. Every vintage piece has a story and I love the fact someone owned it before me as well as the fact that piece is being recycled. I’m a huge lover of vintage and the majority of my home is vintage decor. Almost everything I own is second-hand.
We love that! Why do you heart Flea Style?
I love Flea Style because it’s different from any store I’ve ever been to. There is a little something for everyone. I also love the fact that you support local sellers and offer the coolest pieces. It’s hard to leave empty-handed.
Do you have a favorite find from our vendors?
My home is full of Flea Style finds, so it’s hard to say which one is my favorite. If I had to choose though, it would be my vintage brass candle sticks I have displayed on my coffee table. I added air plants to them for a cozier vibe.
Describe your style in three words:
Eclectic. Vintage. Boho.
What's the one thing you'd save in a fire?
In reality, I would save my vintage one-of-a-kind rug I purchased directly from Morocco because it’s so unique! If I could grab a few more, I'm going for my vintage stone encrusted chest I purchased from a dear friend, my jewelry and photos. Everything else is replaceable!
