“I just don’t look good in hats.”
We hear it all the time in our hat bars — and we absolutely never believe it!

We believe there’s a hat for every head. It’s only a matter of which hat for your head. Or your face, more specifically. The wrong-shaped hat in the wrong color at the wrong angle — yes, a quarter inch can make a difference! — can throw you off.
We’re here to get you on the right track.

Find your face shape
Your hat should be as flattering as your favorite aunt. It shouldn’t fight your features — you are a stunner, BTW. It will balance your bone structure, highlight your best angles, and bring harmony to the proportions of your glorious, gorgeous mug.
Ready?
Stand in front of a mirror or snap a quick selfie. Use a lipstick to outline your face on the mirror or the drawing tool if you took a selfie on your phone. Do you see an oval, circle, square, or heart? If it’s an oval, is it longer or shorter?
Look at the proportions of your:
- Forehead
- Cheekbones
- Jawline
- Chin
This isn’t about picking yourself apart — you’re perfect. It’s about understanding proportions, because balancing proportions is where the magic happens and the love of a good hat is born.
If you have a round face
Soft curves. Fuller cheeks. Similar width and length.
Look for: height and structure
A tall crown adds length, which beautifully balances a round face. Structured silhouettes introduce angles that create definition.
Try these:
- Lenny
- Stevie
- Rider

If you have a balanced oval face
Gently rounded. Slightly longer than wide. Even proportions.
Lucky you! This is the most versatile face shape.
Look for: proportion and personality
Most hat silhouettes work beautifully for a regular oval face. A 4-inch crown and medium-width brim feel especially right. You can go curled or flat — it’s all about your vibe.
It is a good idea to keep overall scale in mind. If you’re petite, you may want to avoid a hat that will overwhelm. If you’re taller, don’t be afraid to amp up the drama.
Try these:
- Jenner
- Tex
- Lenny
- Rider
- Stevie
- Brooks
If you have a long oval face
Longer from forehead to chin. Elegant lines.
Look for: balance
If your face is longer, a shorter crown paired with a curled brim can be a brilliant symphony.
Try these:
- Jenner
- Tex
- Rider
- Brooks
If you have a square face
Defined jawline. Broad forehead.
Look for: width and contrast
A wide-brim hat looks especially striking on a square face and balances a strong jawline like a champ.
Try these:
- Jenner
- Tex
- Lenny
- Rider
- Brooks
If you have a heart-shaped face
Wider forehead. Narrower chin.
Look for: lift and lower balance
A curled brim lifts a heart-shaped face and softens the jawline. A medium to wide brim helps balance a narrower chin by drawing the eye outward.
Try these:
- Jenner
- Tex
- Rider
- Brooks

Beyond shape: color changes everything
Sometimes the issue isn’t that you have the wrong hat for your face shape — it’s that you’ve picked the wrong color.
If you have warmer undertones (golden, peachy, or olive skin), earthy shades tend to glow on you. Rust, espresso, beige, and stone feel effortless.
If your undertones run cooler (more pink or rosy), look toward crisp or cooler hues. Blush, dusty blue, sapphire, ivory, and classic black make your features pop.
Look at your hair and eyes, too. Does pine make your green eyes pop? Does ivory against dark hair feel striking? When the color is right, your look comes alive.
Find your best angle
The angle of your hat can make a bigger difference than you might think.
Flat on your head is what we call Texas style. Tilted back a little (so it forms a little halo around your head) is called California style. Even shifting your hat a quarter inch can change how it works with your forehead, jawline, and cheekbones.
If you try on a hat and feel unsure, don’t give up. Adjust it. Play with it. Move it around.
Go with what you love
There’s nothing more flattering than confidence. If you love it, you’ll be excited to wear it. And when you’re excited to wear it, you’ll look incredible.
