Store number ten is officially open, and what a beautiful chapter this has been.
It's easy to celebrate the number, but what means the most to me is everything it represents. Behind the four walls of our Laguna Beach store are years of taking chances, learning through failure, celebrating wins, trusting the timing of it all, and showing up day after day—even when the path ahead wasn't always clear.
Every storefront tells a piece of our story, and together they've become something so much bigger than I ever imagined. Seeing this dream continue to unfold in my home state feels incredibly special, and I'm filled with gratitude for every person who has helped write this story alongside us.
To celebrate this milestone, we kicked things off with a friends and family soft opening. Having my loved ones there made it a night I'll treasure forever. They've been by my side through every season—the uncertainty, the excitement, the long days, the hard days, and every victory, big and small. They've watched this dream grow from an idea into something real and having them beside me as we cut the ribbon on store number ten felt like we were celebrating every chapter that brought us here.
As I stood outside our newest store, surrounded by the people who have loved and believed in me from the very beginning, I lost it (and I'm not a crier). It was one of those rare moments where your heart feels completely full and time seems to stand still.
Friday brought our grand opening, and getting to celebrate with longtime followers (thank you to everyone who came!) alongside our new Laguna Beach community made the day even more meaningful. One of my favorite parts of opening a new store is meeting the people who walk through the doors for the very first time. Every conversation is the beginning of a new relationship, and every customer reminds me why we do what we do. It was such a joy to introduce new faces to our brand, hear their stories, and watch them discover pieces they connected with.
I also had the chance to hug some familiar faces—from my aunt to my childhood bestie, Samantha. Seeing people who knew me long before any of this existed standing inside our newest store was one of those full-circle moments that quietly reminds you just how incredible the journey has been.
The days since have been filled with the kind of work I genuinely love. There's something incredibly rewarding about simply being present in our stores—watching what catches someone's eye, hearing what they're drawn to, and learning how each new community shops and connects with the space. Those little observations become part of the bigger picture, helping us continue creating stores that feel thoughtful, welcoming, and uniquely ours. Being in our stores and behind our hat bars will always be my favorite part of the job.
More than anything, this month has been about investing in our California team. Beautiful stores are built by incredible people, and I've loved spending these days training, encouraging, coaching, and working right alongside them. This is my final week in town before heading home, so I'm soaking up every opportunity to pour into this team. Whether it's working closing shifts, dressing mannequins, merchandising new arrivals, answering questions, or jumping in wherever I'm needed, my goal is simple: to leave knowing they feel confident, supported, and equipped for what's ahead. Watching each person settle into their role and grow more confident every day has easily been one of the greatest rewards of this trip.
In between it all, I carved out a little time to do one of my favorite things—treasure hunting at the Long Beach flea market. I searched for unique finds not only for Laguna Beach but for all our stores. From perfectly worn vintage Levi's jean shorts to incredible bolo ties, statement belt buckles, and fun accessories for our hat bars, it felt like every booth had something waiting for Flea Style. As my time in Southern California comes to an end, I find myself soaking in every sunrise, every conversation, and every moment with my family and our store. Laguna Beach has welcomed us with such kindness, and I'll always be grateful for the way this community has embraced us.
At the same time, I'm looking forward to heading home to Texas—to our headquarters team, familiar routines, and the people who keep everything moving behind the scenes. Every store opening changes us a little. It teaches us something new, stretches us in unexpected ways, and reminds us why we started in the first place. I’m excited to get back and bring these learns to our crew and decisions ahead.
Store number ten will always hold a special place in my heart—not because it's a milestone, but because of what it represents: the people, the perseverance, and the purpose behind it all. The most meaningful part of building something isn't the number of stores you open—it's the people you get to share the journey with along the way.
