New Home, New Chapter

I’ve been thinking a lot about home lately.

Not just the walls, rooms and things that fill a house, but what home really means—and how much that meaning can change when life changes around you.

The past year has been one of the most transitional, exhausting and emotional seasons of my life. I sold and moved out of our East Texas ranch, Limestone Hill. I sold and moved out of our company’s Nashville condo. And I moved out of our Dallas townhome and into a new home just a few blocks away.

Three moves. One year. A whole lot of boxes.

All of that change came after the sudden passing of my ex-husband just a couple of weeks before Christmas. In an instant, my entire life shifted.

My priorities changed, and my mom instincts kicked into overdrive. When my kids suddenly needed to be with me full-time, I knew our lifestyle needed to change, too. We needed more space in Dallas and an extra bedroom for family to come stay and help for longer stretches of time. We needed a home that worked for all of us and gave us a little more room to settle into our new normal.

And, of course, all of this happened right as my book tour for How to Style a Hat was launching. The dates were locked in, the bags were packed and the show had to go on. At one point, I flew my mom to Dallas three times in one month to help with the kids while I was on the road.

It’s crazy how life can completely stop and somehow keep moving forward at the exact same time.

I was grieving, parenting, working, traveling and trying to create a world for my kids that felt familiar and safe, even though so much around us was changing.

And somewhere along the way, I realized something else: the treasures that filled three homes simply cannot fit into one. Trust me, I tried!

So much of 2026 has been about editing. Editing our spaces. Editing our stuff. Figuring out what works for our life today and what needs to find its next life with someone else.

In August, I officially wrapped up the last of the moves and finally looked at every single item I owned. Some made it into our new home. Others, as hard as it was, didn't.

So I carefully boxed up some of my very favorite pieces and brought them to HQ to tag and prepare for our From the Fields home section in Frisco.

You'll find Turkish and Moroccan rugs—some I collected myself in Marrakesh—gaggles of vintage chairs (I have a minor obsession with a good, weird chair), handmade pillows, old oil paintings, fun lamps and even the coolest brass fireplace andirons I've ever seen.

Most of these pieces came from flea markets and small makers I love. They have the kind of character that only comes with time: a perfectly worn finish, handmade details, little imperfections and stories that make you wonder where they've been before they found you.

And now, I hope they find you.

Maybe one of those rugs will become part of your living room. Maybe a vintage chair will become the one everyone fights over at Thanksgiving. Maybe an old painting or funky lamp will be the little thing that makes a room feel completely like you.

Because home isn't measured in square footage or collected things, but in the life that happens within those walls.

Home is where your people are. Where the shoes pile up by the door. Where someone is always looking for a missing charger. Where you can exhale. Where life happens—the beautiful, messy, funny and ordinary parts of it.

We’re settling into our new normal now. Our new rhythm. Our new home.

I think the biggest thing I’ve learned through all of this change is that sometimes you outgrow a space, sometimes life calls for something different, and sometimes you just need to make a little room for what’s next.

So run, don’t walk, to Frisco and find your favorite pieces! I can’t wait to see which rugs, chairs, paintings, pillows and perfectly quirky treasures y’all fall in love with.

And yes… there will absolutely be a new home tour of our new digs. I can’t wait to share it with you!

Here’s to fresh starts, full houses, good finds and making wherever you are feel like home.
